[Washington, DC] Keeping African-Americans Political Political Action Committee (KAPPAC), a nationwide PAC registered with the Federal Election Commission in 2006, is pleased to announce the appointment of a slate of regional board members. Under the leadership of Samuel C. Hamilton of Hartford, CT and David L. Hardrick of Washington, DC, Chairman & President of KAPPAC, respectively, the organization has divided the country into four geographic regions (North, South, East, West), and will be executing an action plan to aggressively attract members and contributions in all regions in 2008 and beyond.

Those appointed as regional board members at this time are as follows:

Julius Maddox                        William Knapper

Byron L. Potts                        Kevin S. Gaston

                                             Christopher J. Berry

Eastern Region                     Western Region

Rufus Clanzy                          Cliff Franklin

Kenneth McNeil                      Archie Burks

A. Bates Lyons                       Boris Ricks

Anthony Humphries

KAPPAC was founded to support, educate and inform the African American community in particular about the political process. Its intent also includes financially supporting both elected officials and worthy candidates for local, state or federal office who share the community’s interests and priorities on legislation that will impact lives.

KAPPAC’s annual fund raising goal is $600,000. The primary target audience for membership in Phase I of KAPPAC’s evolution is members of historically Black Greek letter organizations (BGLOs). As a result, KAPPAC expects to position itself to impact the decision making process on appointments, resource distribution and laws that govern the daily lives of African-Americans and the entire country. KAPPAC will allow like-minded citizens, regardless of race, creed, color, religion, or political party affiliation, to pool resources in order to influence the decisions of who gets what, how much and how often.
